Talk to get information. Write to clear up information.
Write to live in the moment.
I find it easy to live life just doing. Going through the motions. Day by day.
I don’t like this. I figure you don’t either. Yet, it happens to me all the time.
One thing that helped me to be more mindful of the present…
Reflecting. Initially, I never did this. It never worked. But, since I started writing daily, it has been helpful.
Two things matter here. Writing. And, consistency.
Writing clears all thoughts because writing is a structured form of communication.
Consistency makes taking insights meaningful because there is an accumulation of thoughts.
So, when people ask why I write each day, the answer is simple.
Sharing what I learn helps me learn more. Get direction. And, live in the present.
Doing so consistently helps you live life more thoughtfully. And, not regret your decisions.
I have gained more conviction in what I do and preach by writing about those ideas.
I now believe that every interaction (whether accidental or purposeful) has a take away. Some matter more than others.
When I stumble across those realizations, I jot a small note on my phone to revisit.
With time, I am drawing consistencies. These consistencies help me gain more conviction on my thoughts/beliefs.
Bottom-line? Need conviction, need direction, need to be more present? Write. Consistently.
