Living in Sandbox Mode

We’re in sandbox mode.

As young people, we have the benefit of being able to fail.

And fail multiple times.

We are only limited by the level of our ambition and effort.

The beauty is that if we fail there is a lot less to lose.

As we grow older the stakes rise.

Friends. Family. Career. Mortgage. Student loans. Health. Etc.

There is a lot more responsibility as we get older.

But, the benefit of being young.

We don’t have much of that responsibility.

We can live the way we want. On our own terms.

We can design the life we so desire.

That’s the beauty.

It’s like a sandbox.

In programming terms, this refers to the testing environment where software can be deployed with test users to identify any issues that need to be addressed.

That’s our life.

It is our chance to try the new things. The new sports. Clubs. Classes. Internships. Jobs. Etc.

Bottom-line? There is not much to lose. We are in sandbox mode. It’s time to make mistakes.
